Anyone has experience to keep Brazilian Giant Seahorse?

I saw red and yellow in a local store, they are so colorful.

What I know is that they have to be in a species only tank because they are slow eaters and will starve if kept with more aggressive fish. Also most only eat live type foods but can be trained to accept frozen in some cases.

Yes, species tank is much easier and healthier--and barebottom is pretty convenient too as it allows you to clean the tank well to maintain water quality. Most captive bred horses will eat frozen mysis, but if it is wild caught you may need to wean it from live to frozen.

If water quality isn't goin to be an issue for you (like if you're gonna plumb yet ANOTHER tank into that beautiful system you have at your building :) ) ....one thing you could consider is going with a puka shell covering. I found that with all the empty spaces my copepods went nuts, along with some mysis and kept my seahorses busy in between feedings. It does trap some detritus though obviously so if it was a stand alone tank or a smaller tank, you're probably better off with reg substrate or bb like Christine suggested.

the captive bred kellogi that i have gotten ate frozen mysis within the first 5 minutes of being placed in a specimen cup in the tank, and i'm sure they would've eaten while they were still in the bag. :)
