Breeders

Hey,
Anyone out there who would know a few seahorse Breeders in Cali? I am in the SantaBarbra area, closer to me then ferther would be appreciated. I want to be able to be in direct contact and not have to jump through other aquarium shops hoops to get the information. I know in my area that this information is heavily gaurded but I could use any suggestions.

Never heard of any. I think they're all in Florida and Hawaii. I've heard there are places that take them and train to eat frozen in Cali, never heard of one that actually breeds them though.

You want MOFIB. And Dan at SeahorseSource.com is great with supporting other breeders, especially educational. Check out the Seahorse Conservation Project at Mote Marine too, they're happy to share with educational institutions.

Thank you for all the info, But I know basically what I need to, but I was just wondering if there was any locallly that I could have a direct line with and form like a "partnership". I have very good ties with the local pet shop owners and I would like some one around my area to be doing the same thing I am which is raising seahorses. So we can compare notes and ect. Also I have contacted and have talked to Dan at seahorsesource and I could not had a better experience. There are so helpfull. And peka is in my mind one of the best seahorse suppliers I have ever contacted and when she donated a few to my project in the aquarium I could have not been more greatfull because they couldnt have arrived at a better time...
