Breeding Behavior

I have two clownfish that are picking at the same rock and then take turns wiggiling on the rock, as if they were laying eggs, but i have not seen any eggs. I bought one at my LFS about 5 months ago, and i got one handed down to me that is a little bigger then the one i bought about 3 months ago. Why are they not laying eggs?

Sounds almost like they are practicing.

IMHO they are still a little young to be producing. I have a pair of juv percs that have been with me for 2 years now and they exhibit this behavior as well. I am hoping they are getting close as they should be ready at 2 years but sometimes there is something in the environment that just doesn't jive. Its' only been three months I'd give it a while longer. Sometimes the pair bonding and establishment takes that long.
