I would recommend being able to keep seahorses first before you try you hand at breeding. They dont do well with many tank mates and are prone to weird illness that arent easy to diagnose or treat.
Start with captive bred, pair them by purchasing different sexes from different breeders. They may mate successfully for quite a while and then quit with out any reason.
If you can breed clowns, you probably wont have any trouble breeding seahorses. It was more difficult for me to keep the foods for clown fry then to hatch bbs daily for seahorse fry.
