bright orange maroon clown

Just wondering how I can help it maintain it's bright orange color( fish is 2-1/4 inch)? If I try to pair it with a smaller ordinary maroon will it change to a darker female? or do some females stay orange? Thank you!

Oh well, there's got to be a way to "slow down" the change. Like not pairing it?
