Brightness Question

Work In Progress
Hello,

I have a Gen 2 Radeon. I am trying to figure out the best brightness setting on 20K for my tank.

I have a LPS/SPS dominated tank. The light will sit about 10 inches above water and the depth of the tank is about 19 inches.

I have had a lot of trouble keeping corals alive. Especially LPS. I know my parameters are stable and perfect every day. So we are thinking it could be the lights are too bright or too dim.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I suspect 100% of 20k would be fine. What do you mean by perfect? Is your SPS pale? My first guess is that your water is too clean.

SPS grows like mad. Perfect color.

My parameters are as follows.

1.025 Salt, 8.6 Dkh, 440 ca, mag is 1390, po4 is 0, notate is around 1.

When you say clean? What Can I do to fix that?

I feed pellets 3 times a day. Not a whole lot.

Water change is 20% twice a month or bi-weekly. I have phosban reactor, skimmer, filter sock, and NuClear.

I would either try upping the feeding (a mysis cube a day for starters) or ease up a bit on the phosban or skimmer (I would start with the food and keep the export). The risk is that your SPS may not look as good, but ithen again they might. If you don't like the results after a month you can always stop.
