I'm looking to add a second bristletail file to a 90g mixed reef. There is currently a male bristletail in that tank which has been there for about four years; he's lost his appetite for aiptasia. I'm not finding a female to add, so I'm considering having one (unsexed, of course) shipped to me, or buying a male locally if one turns up.
I do understand that excess feeding is an issue both with aiptasia growth and with the reluctance of my current file to eat aiptasia. I also understand that peppermint shrimp are usually a better option (many have disappeared quickly in the tank, and my leopard wrasse is the prime suspect), and I do know about Berghia (I can't remove the rockwork). I also realize that coral banded butterflies are a possibility, but because of the various obvious shortcomings of that fish, I won't try it.
Can anyone give advice as to the compatibility of two male bristletail filefish in a 90g?
