Broke my sump - need Sump

Sitting in my living room I just herd a crack coming from my tank. I thought it could be one of the rocks I moved today. Nope it was one of the plates of glass that I used as a bubble trap/seperation for my sump. Apparently when I was in there earlier I moved the overflow hose so that it put some stress one the glass separating the overflow section from the cheto section. That is the second pane to break. I broke one going from my cheto section to my return pump section.

So now I am at a crossroads. I need a new sump. I had already thinking of replacing it. I did make it my self for about $35. It was a 15 gallon tank and some glass partitions. Would I be better off buying one or making one. I need one that has room for:

a heater
a protein skimmer and pump
some cheto
and two pumps One return and one to feed the UV and a phosban reactor.

So what should I get or should I build. I was thinking it would be fun to make one. But I only want to do it if its cheaper and if it can look good. I want to keep the project less than $200. This is going to put off those tunze power heads I had planned.

I dont suppose anyone has a mud sump laying around they want to sell or trade.

ninjamini if you have the tools i tell you do it or i can make it for you let me know

BTW

i am dying to test my delta table saw i fell allittle bore lol

thesaent14. Thanx for the offer. I'd love to talk about it. I think someone here had, hey wait that is you who has the tow cnc machines. I don't know what that is but it just might do the trick.

I have no tools and I really have no idea how to do it. But I am a quick study. I know that you cut the acrylic and weld it together with a kinda glue. But how to cut the acrylic to the right sizes so they dont leak and how to clamp them while they bond eludes me.
Where can I get the acrylic?

Or should I buy something like this?

Medium Pro-Clear Mud Sump
For aquariums to 175 gallons. Designed to be one of the most versatile filters on the market. This sump style filter can be used with Live Sand, Mud, Live Rock and/or Live Algae. Each unit comes with, bio chamber, bio-balls, (2) 3’ heavy duty spiral drain hoses, and a compact fluorescent striplight for maximum algae growth. All you need to add is return pump with a flow rate of 700 gph, filter substrate and possibly an overflow box. We recommend using 12 lbs. of Marine Bio Sediment from Kent Marine. Filter measures 27"L x 9"D x 16"H

i think just like reefwreak custume is the way to go 2 sit doun and draw somting you like and if you want for least then 200$ ill make you 1

o somting ells if you want mud system skimmer area and xtras that sump wont have it is just a open sump water come from one end and after the bioballs is just a box you will have to drop a pump in it plus if you add the skimer micro bubles will go to the tank

btw

i am not trying to sale you a sump just help you out

What do you suggest. Its for a 90 gallon. I want to have an overflow area, a area for cheto, a protein skimmer (I have a Proclear MPS 150 (http://www.proclearaquatics.com/skimmers.html)), a pump that feeds a UV and a phosban reactor and also a return pump.

The door of my stand has room for a 24" x 12" tank to go through perfectly. So we might have to get creative.

Have you built one before? Do you have some pics to give me an idea what I need?

Wait so that cube project is yours. Very impressive. I'd love to do the build together. That way I can learn how to do it.

*WHISTLE* you got the skillz! Let me know if you are interested in having more projects to work on
