What is the fate of this frag? Also, does that look like a branching hammer to you guys? Looks more like a wall to me. The seller said its a branching that is splitting.

Seller also suggests that the frag is fine

Advice?

It does look like a wall to me too. As far as the "broken" state. I think that is part of the fraging process being a wall hammer. If it was a branching one, that should not be present.

Another reason I hate buying corals online. You never know what you are going to get.

I hope you can return it or get some money back.

I also hope you didn't get it from Reefs2go, they have horrible customer service and will never answer any of your calls. Good luck.

Not true. Buy WYSIWYG from a reputable seller.

As far as a wall or a branching, this can be two branching heads they split in the middle. Get it mounted and leave it be. Coral is pretty resilient and may bounce back. GL

Once when I fragged my frogspawn, I accidently cut it too close to another stock which broke the stock down the middle so I had 6 tiny frags instead of 1. They all survived and started growing into new colonies so Im with tytyler and Tweaked, just leave it be and it should come back.

My cornbred yellow branching hammer looked like yours, like a mini wall hammer, and its starting to branch. It also had a cut mark in it from when it was fragged, probably was close to another branch when he was cutting it. It didnt have a broken part but the coral is doing quite well in my tank
