broken up hermit crab

Hi Guys,
I am new to the marine life., I have a 120l Lido My tank has been running for 4weeks now. Last weekend I added 5 turbo snails and 4 hermit crabs. I have lost of couple of these now.

There are hermit crab legs sitting in the front corner of my tank, and a couple of empty snail shells.

Could it be water quality? I have zero ammonia and nitrites, and 20ppm nitrates, 8.3pH, The temperature did go up over the weekend and the past few days - normally at 26celcius.

crab legs are just sheddings most likely. the snails... well some snails are fickle, fall off rock or glass and cant flip themselves over and they will be eaten by worms and crabs and other snails potentially. Nothing i would worry about, snails and crabs come and go, the more shells in there the better.

you could have a crab or crabs killing snails as well.

do you hear any kind of clicking sounds coming from your tank?

I have heard clicking a couple of times (in the evening).
There are no broken shells.

mantis or pistol shrimp might be eating them
