Brooklynella treatment

That Guy
I have a pair of Australian Black Percs (I know they are not really percs) that appear to have brooklynella. If I could get a pic I would but they move too fast to get a picture that shows it. They have what is starting to look like milky patches to the skin and one I have noticed has had some "slime" streaming off it that is now fallen off. The fish are still very active and eating so I am fairly sure it is earlier on. Does this sound right?

I am planning on using rid ich + at 10x dosage. What is the recommendation on doing all this and does this sound like brook or something else?

A fast response would be greatly appreciated so I could treat before it is too late. Thank you much

I'm not sure of the dosage; but Rid-Ich has formalin and should be an acceptable substitute. I know of nothing, other than formalin that works on brook. Were any other fish exposed to these clowns?

No, they were quarantined. Why do you ask? I saw on here somewhere that the best all around way to medicate is 10x dosage of ridick+, especially with how difficult is can be these days to get formalin; luckily I have ridich+ on hand and want to treat ASAP but need to know time etc. Not sure how long though or how often.

10x Ridich+ for an hour with constant heavy aeration in a separate bucket. Do it again in 2 days if the symptoms don't improve. (One treatment has always worked for me though.)

Had one more question about Brooks.... is it normal for the fish to be acting perfectly normal? They are eating well, swimming well, breathing well..... all I see are physical issues. Cloudy/milky skin that almost reminds me of a snake getting ready to shed (that would be the best way to explain it) and I saw a bit of "slime" or skin hanging on her. I just want to make sure I am treating the right thing.

I just went through Brook with my Percs. I thought they had ich at first because of the small white spots and put them in hypo at less than .15 ppt. When ghe spots grew and the skin shedding led me to Brook. I used quick cure, surprisingly available at Walmart, gave 60 minute, aerated baths at the prescribed dosage. They were cured within a week and are happily hanging out in my Magnifica. They were eating the entire time, but not with the normal gusto...

Glad the clowns are doing well. I just asked about exposure to other fish because is very contagious.
