Brooknella

The picture is not of my fish but it is the exact same thing on my Emperor Angel.

He was QT for 6 weeks before being added to an established tank with Clown Tang, Dwarf Golden Eel, pair of Flame Angels and several damsels.

Looking back I should have left in QT longer.

I am assuming it is Brooknella based on his actions and several pictures. The picture attached (I hope) shows the exact color faded spots he has with large slim sloughing sections and redness in his mouth.

I gave him a FW bath for 5 minutes today and treated DT with metronidazole and praziquantel . No other fish are yet showing symptoms so no other FW dips yet. I plan to dip him again in the morning and redoes with metro/ praz.

He was picking at some Mysis today and still eating NLS pellets. I also thought of soaking some of the NLS pellets in a liquefied metro solution to get some into him internally as well.

Any thoughts or suggestions on what else I should be doing? Does it sound like Brooknella based on picture?

1. How old is this aquarium? 2.5 yo

2. If less than six months old, what is ammonia level? 0.0 kit and badge

3. What is SG of this aquarium? How measured? 1.019 refractometer

4. When was the last fish added to this aquarium? 4 days

5. Was it quarantined? If so, how? And how long? Was it prophylactically treated? How? never treated no symptoms

6. If you are using a copper based medication, which one? How often do you measure level? When?

7. If you are using hyposalinity, how did you calibrate your refractometer? just started to lower, teste each use with distilled water

8. Please describe in detail, the appearance of the fish? If there is one or more pimples, are they lumpy? What color? few irregular white dots all white or opaque large sections of skin sloughing and discolored

9. Please describe the behavior of the fish as best you can. Is it acting reclusive? Is it always up towards the top of the aquarium? Is it avoiding light? How active is the fish? Sits by skunk shrimp begging to be cleaned but my shrimp is broken and won't touch fish

10. Is the fish eating? What? yes Mysis, nls algae strips

Read that post many times, it is posted on a few different boards.

The metro and praz are in one dose and since praz will kill internal parasites I figure it wouldn't hurt.

I can't QT the entire tank as my QT is only 55g and I'm guessing it is already infested as well since the emperor just came out of that tank. I will be breaking it down and bleaching it shortly.

I do have a 40B that I could medicate in but that would only suffice for the angel.

I haven't used formaline as it is so hard on some fish, angels being one of those. I was hoping the FW dips would suffice to dislodge enough to allow the metro to kill off the remainder that are free swimming.

I am dosing my DT as metro and praz are fairly safe for a CUC. (or so I have read)

Any thoughts on feeding? Is there value to make up a NLS/ metro mash for the Emperor?

Based on pictures, am I correct that this is brook and not velvet? ( I see nothing gold/ tan on the fish)

The good news is the tank was treated a little more than 5 hours ago and I can already see rapid improvement.

Now if only my cleaner shrimp wasn't broken, the emperor may actually seem happy.
