Brown Algae problem

I have a 110 gallon fish only with live sand and live rock. I currently have a porcupine puffer, yellow tang, snake eel, pair of blue jaw triggers, lunare wrasse and a squirrelfish, the rock keeps getting a brown algae growing on it, does anyone know what the problem may be. Would a refugium solve this problem?

Its actually browm diatom and is caused by too much light and/or too many nutrients in the water. A high quality skimmer, reasonable lighting times and good tank maintenance should keep it under control.
