Brown stuff

My friend has a tank that has brown stuff in it he thought it was diatoms. He added hydrogen peroxide and that should have tooken care of it. But up close its greenish brownish. Any ideas on how to get rid of it?

A picture would be essential, won't be able to help you much if we can't tell what it is. Does it look slimy, hairy, dry, etc

Maybe cyano if greenish or dark red/brownish? Siphon out and water changes and less feeding? Maybe even a blackout depending on severity. But a pic is worth 1000 words

Is it on the bed or like streamers? Does it have little air bubbles forming in it? I had something a while back called Dinoflagellate after I came back from a trip. Someone had been feeding my tanks for me and didnt know that they didnt feed the same amount in the smaller that they did in the larger.

I would do a google search there are pictures I saw see if it looks like that.
