BRS dosing pump, vodka and hosing

Strange question: I'm dosing vodka with the BRS 1.1ml/min dosing pump (have it hooked up to the RKL), pump is great but I'm having trouble with vodka exiting due to air bubbles entering the hose from the exit (making the doses somewhat lower then what they should be at times). Is there some type of valve I can attach to the end of the hose to prevent air from entering it? Or can anyone suggest their method of preventing this?

wouldn't it even out? because whatever vodka that air displaced would go into your tank? you can try adding a check valve.

I always stick one end in to whatever I'm dosing turn it on manually and let the fluid pass through into another container until air is gone, then hook the hose back up to the sump and seems to work good for me.

I'm doing this right now, does it usually take awhile?? Thing is air keeps traveling up towards the pump every minute or so (exit hose), when the air moves back/up the flow is no longer consistent. Fwiw, the pump is about 1 foot above the container full of vodka and the air pockets are within the exit hose.

I was under the impression that these pumps push a solid body of water (hope that makes sense) and therefore push out all of the air in the process with an end product of drip, drip, drip every couple seconds, i haven't had the constant flow yet.

alright so ended up holding the hose higher then the pump right before the pocket of air would run back to the pump. all the pockets of air went up and out. then had to wait a couple minutes for the vodka to catch back up. gently put everything back in place and no more pockets of air! maybe this is why the manual says to keep lines as straight as possible ... not sure but this seemed to work. i'll have to monitor it when it's scheduled to come on. I find it strange how I've never heard of anyone else having this problem.

Good I'm glad you got it to work for you, it's a bit of a pain to stand there and watch the air work itself out because it takes so long...lol
