BRS mag & 2 part

Was thinking of ordering the magnesium from BRS but not sure which one to buy. They have mag sulfate and mag chloride and the 2 part with mag. Has any one used these products, and how good do they work? Can I add mag to the ATO to help with maintaining the mag level if I use Mrs Wages lime?

I always order their 2 part + mag. Not sure if you can add the magnesium to the pickling lime or not.

The 2 part from them has you add 20 Oz worth of magnesium for every 1 gallon of Calcium/Alk. I'm not sure how you would go about dosing the mag with that ratio.

As it stands, 1 Gallon of 2 Part lasts me 378ish days.... 3785ML (1 Gallon) / 10 ML per Day = 378.5 Days to use 1 gallon of each. That would mean if I dosed mag daily it would only be about 1.58 ML per day.

I'm not sure if you could dose that little amount per day with it hooked up to your top off. I'd just dose the Mag separately myself.

Don't mix the mag into your Ca & Alk dosing. They're not compatible and may cause precipitation.

You want to dose a mix of mag chloride and mag sulfate. Mag sulfate is also sold as Epsom Salts in your grocery store, and is usually the cheaper way to go once you figure in shipping.
