Hello there -- I have a 8" to 10" BTA in a Reef Tank that has become discolored (purplish at times) over the last few weeks after a year of perfect health. Its tentacles have all shrivled to a nub. He still moves around but does not eat like he use too.

Further, all water parameters are where they need to be. I'm fairly certain that the problem is the result of a chunk of natural blended food enriched w/ vitamin supplements that was feed to him. He has never been the same since that feeding.

Any thoughts on treatment? I'm going to move it to a QT, but would like to know how or what to treat.

Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I was previusly feeding the BTA froozen food a few times a week and he took the food in aggresively, which is a healthy sign. Lately, however, the BTA contracts as food is presented but the food floats back into the tank or the clowns take it. In other words, he does not contract and keep the food.

In regrads to lighting, my DT has a MH 250W 10K and a few atinics w/ a few night lights.
