BTA feeding help

I picked up a BTA for my perc 2 days ago. I have tried to feed it krill and brine shrimp twice but it wont hold onto the food and lets it float away.

The anemone during the day has balls at the end of the tentacles- kinda look like blue barries.

At night, it expands to double its size and the tentacles become long with tiny bubbles on the end. I tried feeding it at night- where ever I would touch the food to it- it would retract and not take the food.

What gives?

I have a RBTA and I feed it with Ocean Nutrition Frozen Formula 1. Sometimes live Brine Shrimp.

Of course I thaw it first until it gets soft and soggy. Then I use my clip device (tongs) and put the half cube food right at the mouth. My BTA closes up and gobbles it up. I only feed it once a week.

Try to target feed it at the mouth. That usually alerts them that there's food.

You didnt mention if you are feeding it with freeze dried or live. If you havent tried yet, try live food.

Good Luck
Joe

it was freeze dried krill- and frozen brine- but I didnt target feed the mouth.

Ill try that tonight- THe lights just went out in the tank and he is smaller then usual- hopefully he will perk up like he did last night under the LED's/

Silversides work really well and you can get a bunch relatively cheap, I don't like mysis shrimp, really nothing to them nutritionally. I also don't come near the mouth when feeding the silversides, the nem can sense food is near by very well and placing the food on the tentacles should do. The moment it touches the food it grabs on and closes up like a fist.Hope this helps:)
