BTA stress

Due to my noobiness! my BTA has me stressed out, I'm planning on going to the frag swap and was wondering if he's swappable to a good home, or is it better to give him to someone that wants him and do right by him. I can throw in cash for his food also. I pretty sure I dont have the expertise to care of him correctly and would rather do the right thing before he gets ill. I'm open to ideas here?

If you give him away, just make sure that the person you're giving it to has the knowledge, experience, and equipment necessary to give the BTA the kind of care you'd like it to receive.

I commend you on your concern for this animal's well being. It's a nice trait to see in this hobby. Good luck!

Casalt, I know fragmented wanted a BTA, but if you want I can take him and put him in my frag tank to liven him up. I recently had 10 others that I put in there from my main tank while trading and selling them. Let me know.

Thanks shiveley, everyone here has more knowledge than me LOL

jtarmitage thanks for the offer hopefully fragmented gets a hold of me , if he's up for it's his. I don't want any money for him, just a better enviroment then I can deliver the right now. I've never been to the swap so I dont know if it's apropriate to take the BTA , and have an experienced reefer can pick him, or give him to someone who wants him and give him proper care.

I have sent Fragmented (Rachelle) a PM. How does the anem look? Showing outward signs of distress, ie expelling it's inards or laying flat?

That pic was from 2 days ago he stll looks the same as when I bought him, he moved out on the ledge to get more light today, his mouth is closed and nothing comming out, he's still eating also.

OK, good. He'll be allright for awhile. It's good that he is eating and the tentacles are inflated. In that case, bring him to the swap. You could put him in the general swap, but like I said, I know that Rachelle wanted one, so you could hold it for her as well.

When they are newly aquired and first brought home, they are and will be in a state of stress for a month or so.

The gaping mouth is a tell tale, wandering around the tanks or detaching all together are signs of an unhappy anenome.

Fragmented will take him at the swap , he'll live. Thanks for all the kind words. I just didnt want the BTA to suffer while I learn how to do this again, its been 12 years since my last tank. again thanks for all the help I'll see everybody tomorrow.
