BTA & yellow tail damsel

Hey guys,

I have a 55g mixed reef w/ BTA and was thinking of adding a yellow tail blue damsel to my tank.
I heard damsels are used for tank cycling; would adding one to my tank ruin the water quality for the BTA?
The other fish tank mates are 2 Percs, a fire goby & purple goby.

thanks

i've heard they're used because they're hardy...they can endure the poor water quality at the beginning--not that they 'create' waste.

i could be wrong, lets see...

thanks for the reply,

Would there be any compatibility issues with my current fish set up?(2 percs, purple goby, fire goby)
I heard the damsels can be aggressive.
My LFS told me I should buy them in 3's so the don't become aggressive with other fish.

Get the damsels in a school of 3 or more if you can, it'll at most add beauty to your tank. There shouldn't be any issues with the fish you have in there now. Always add more aggressive fish to your tank last, that way the less aggressive fish will have an established territory and be more defensive about it...rather than a non-aggressive fish coming into an aggressive tank looking around for territory.
