looking for cure after trying three times to remove by scrubbinb,and iodine dipping of live rock,also now finding it in the sand?all water peramiters at normal . help ,help.

Try Emerald Crabs..... a lot of them along with picking them off the rocks..... If your problem is really really bad you may want to try Rock Cooking..... Rock Cooking is removing all light the LR is exposed to resulting in a die off of all algae that needs light to survive..... Do a search on RC to find out more details on this....

The Emerals will probably be enough to take care of your problem.....

I purchased a dozen emerald crabs for my 180 and they have decimated my valonia. Now if I can find something that will do the same for hair algea.

What does it look like? I've been fighting bubble algae (valonia) for almost 2 years, at one point my LR was almost completely covered, but I never once have had it grow on the sand. When the bubbles get crowded they'll come loose and block powerheads or end up on the sand.

Water changes will stop the problem, with manual removal. Worked for me.

Hair algae...a yellow tang finished it off for me. But I don't thnk that is a sure fire solution.

Water purity issues cause HA.
