Yes & no. The stalk of a Toadstool is actually pretty durable. It can withstand quite a bit before the coral as a whole becomes grumpy and just won't open up like it should. The cap itself is a different story. (much more sensitive) If the Bubble coral is interacting with this on a regular basis don't expect the Toadstool to be very happy at all. You'll just have to experiment with the distance between the two corals and see what works. GL.
My Bubble seems to be the one that is not happy. Both corals are very large and at times the Bubble does sweep the leather. The Bubble has not fully expanded for several weeks.
I would look at other changes rather than the toadstool and the bubbles relationship. The bubble should win the battle hands down. If he is not, then you might want to look at running GAC or something similar to remove the rest of the toxins in the tank. Sounds like you might have more than one that is waging war or your water levels are off far enough to affect the LPS but not the softies.
Thanks for the response. It has been suggested my water is too clean. My nitrates have always been about 12.5/25 and I do a lot to keep them at that or below. I recently have been getting near zero and that seems to be the problem. Purigen has been the choice for years, but recently Matrix carbon has been added in addition for the last couple of days. We'll see.
