Is there something wrong with my Bubble Coral? It has small brown spots all over it

Looks very abnormal. Almost like a cyano on your bubble, a parasite perhaps?

Look closely and see if there are creatures on it or if it is just brown slime/spots.

Polyp extension shows that your params are probably good but I have the exact same bubble you do and have never noticed this happening.

Please post your parameters and closely inspect the coral to try and see if it is discoloration or if there is actually something on the tissue.

Also, at night inspect the skeleton with a flashlight and let us know how it looks, post a picture of that if you can also.

If this keeps up the tissue may fall off of the skeleton and possibly die.

How long have you noticed this? Does it come and go?

It has had these spots for about a month. The spots seem to be inside the bubbles. There are no creatures on it from what I can see.

Did you ever find out what it is? mine has the same thing!

I think it is zooanthela, the good algae that grows inside corals. Mine is 4 years old and got them when I upgraded to metal halide lights, just a 175W and 4 39W T5s from the CFLs I was using. I haven't been feeding mine as much and it has shrunk some, did your bublle make it? Im hoping my guess is right but I don't know
Thanks Mike Spivey
