Bubble Problem

I have a closed loop with an OM 4-way powered by an iwaki 100. I am getting an explosion of microbubbles every 4-5mins coming out of the OM 4-way. I dont have any bubbles coming out of my return and am puzzled as to why the bubbles only come out every 4-5mins. Any information on this would be very helpful. I also have 8 revolutions connected to the OM this if it helps any.

hey man have you regloo all the conections and check for salt kreep that will tell you whaere is the small ventury

Yea, it sounds like one of the 4 connections has a small airleak. That's whats creating the microbubbles. Unless it's got saltcreep, it'll be difficult, unless you know which connections you may have skimped on. It should be easy enough to find, but I wonder if you can just put PVC glue over the joints again and it'll seal?

i thought it could be that but then wouldnt i have constant bubbles if that was the cause? its only once every 4-5mins that an "explosion" of bubbles occurs.

Rawbomb,

I'm having the same exact issue with my OM Squirt 2-Way w/bypass powered by a Gen-X PCX-40 1100gph. I know all of my connections are AIR-TIGHT (all PVC with purple glue, no soft connections) as I redid them all twice. I've got NO salt creep anywhere along my lines and I'm getting the same explosion of bubbles every 4-5 mins. First time I noticed this I took apart my entire CL system, re-did the connections and put everything back together. A month later it started doing the same thing. Since it's every 4-5 mins I haven't been too worried about it cause it clears up pretty quickly. I've spoken with Paul from OM as he is awesome but we couldn't find any problems. Even when I first pulled apart my CL everything within the actual OM looked great even after about 6 months of usage as that is when this all started happening. Let me know what you find out.

guys what Teflon tape you use for the connection on the pump that will be your problem

btw

how close from the top of the water is the OM Squirt you have to consider that to

show me some pictures of those to i need to see

Manny, do you mean what brand of teflon tape? Or are we using it at all? The teflon tape I use in all my MPT connections is in a blue round little container.

Having bubbles coming out in a burst every 5 min is consistent with a very small leak. Usually this small bubbles will accumulate in a pipe bend until there is enough volume to be forced out in one shot.
My first approach would be to find the leak by elimination of possible causes, for example, are the bubbles coming out of all the OM outlets or just one or two?
does the pump makes a blending noise just before the bubbles come out?
You can also try using some silicone grease were ever there is o-rings joints, smotimes the o-rings don't seat properly and allow air to go in, if this is the case you would not see the salt creep for months.
The OM itself has an o-ring that needs to have silicone grease to seal properly, If it was not included with your unit, call Paul he will send you some.
