Bubbles

Hello,

I kind of have been neglecting my tank for a while (it is still clean).

Now I noticed that the returns are pushing lots of little bubbles into the tank. I am not quite sure why but I have tried cleaning the ends of the returns. I looked where the return pump is and the water looks calm there...shrug...any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks and have a nice day!

are you using loc-line? If so, when you move them around, you'll have bubbles until salt creep clogs the joints... it happens to me all the time

You may not be seeing the bubbles in your sump...

Do you have a way to slow the return down a little? I had the same problem and I only have a Mag 9 pushing water back in (and my sump is a 55 gal with 2 sets of baffels to slow the bubbles). I had to crank back the return pump because the water was turning over too fast creating micro bubbles in the display. If you don't have a way to do that...you might want to think about a smaller return. Interesting that this would start now if it wasn't happening before.

Yes, the water level is good.

When the water level was low before, there were major bubbles and noise but the pump was still completely under water.....it was because my glass cleaner floated over in front of one of the overflows.

Hey now,

I figured it out and never posted. I don't know all the technical terms but I adjusted the skimmer because it looked like it wasn't performing as well as it should....now everything is working as it should. No bubbles!
