Buff scratches out of glass

I know this is a controversial subject, but I wanted to share my experience. I recently purchased a used 210 glass tank. It had a few scratches that I couldn't over look. So I began calling glass companies around OKC. Oklahoma City Glass was the only company that agreed to give it a try. I lugged the tank up there for them to work on. After a couple days, I picked the tank up and was happy with the work they performed. The scratches they worked on were invisible without any distortion. I just wanted to get the word out that it is possible with the right equipment and expertise. If you are OCD like me and have an empty tank, I would recommend them to take a look. I wish I had taken pre and post pictures, but it didnt cross my mind at the time.

Glad you could get your tank looking as good as new again! Cerium oxide removes light scratches, it's just once you get your reef going it makes it near impossible to buff out/worth the effort. Not sure why glass companies refuse to buff out tanks so much, could be the hassel of getting in there and using a buffer. I just learn to live with some of the light scratches that happen randomly, and avoid magnet cleaners to prevent deep ones. I hate being OCD though, I can't help it, this hobby helps somewhat :).

I actualy had them work on the deaper scratches. Then they sold me the compound and a buffing wheel. I asked if they would want do more of these for the reefers of oklahoma. And they said no problem!
