bugs for refugium

I was wondering if anyone knew of a place that sells bugs to seed a refugium around here. U know like amphipods, little bristle worms, mysis shrimp, etc...... Thanks!!!

I would just get some cheato from a member with a very established refugium. best and cheapest way to get pods and stuff.

yeah thats the best way, i got a live supplement from online too and i have a massive population of amphipods, copepods, isopods and the like living in my fuge. they like some DT's phyto on occasion too.

you can buy pods online, but there not cheap. 25$ a bottle + shipping.

they say theres abotu 1000 in the bottle. Im probably going to buy a bottle and try and start culturing them in a tiny tank, supposedly VERY easy to do.

Exotic Aquatic on Oakland sells the bottles of them aswell. I think its 20$ for the bottle. let me know if ur at the next meeting, There are always atleast 10-20 of them on my prefilter! thatshow I seeded my refugium

I've had great luck with Reef Bugs by Marc Weiss...I got mine at Big Al's. The good thing is that it is in dry form, so you don't have to worry as much about it going bad...although I do keep it refrigerated, just in case. Just mix up what you need and toss it in the tank. I've seen some awesome life in my tank since I've been feeding it this stuff. I would imagine that it goes alot further too since it's a good amount that comes in the package compared to the liquid form in the bottle.
