Bulb Advice!!!!!!

Time to change out my bulbs over my 300. I have the Ushio 14K 400watts over them now but just getting the color I want. Any suggestions????? What are you using and hows the color???

I'm getting ready to change out one of my 400's too. I have been using a Reflux 10k and I like it but I'm now leaning towards "Blueing things up a bit" by going to the new 20k Reflux. I'm kinda limited in bulb selection because this particular ballast is a "Probe Start" and bulbs like the Radium 20k just don't fire with those ballasts. What Color are you wanting more of? Do you run any Actinic VHO or T5 to supplement your Metal Halide?

Hey Ben, assuming you're running electronic ballasts, not to sound like a paid endorsement but I am very impressed with the Reeflux 20K's. They are actually white with a slight tinge of blue and are no where near as blue as most 20K. In fact they are even whiter & have have higher PAR values than the Reeflux 12Ks. Too early to tell what the growth looks like but my corals are starting to pop even better than before.

we are running the reeflux 20K on magnetic ballasts and are getting great results much better than the 12K reeflux we ran in the past

Don't have enough experience to offer advice but on another forum a few people that grow outstanding coral were talking about how much they liked South Pacific Sunlight MH bulbs.

Here is an old review notice how much of the light spectrum output tends to be in the desired range. on the SPS bulbs.
