We have had amazing success growing bulb tipped anemones, but we have also had amazing success growing green hair algae. The 7 anemones in the tank all started from a single saggy white quarter sized nearly dead anemone that was purchased around 10 years ago because my mom "felt sorry for it." It only cost $10 at the time.
Now my mother maintains this tank and I am living across the country, I would like to help her with her hair algae problem, but I don't want to hurt the anemones in any way.
Picking the algae, water changes, snails, crabs, etc. have not touched the algae at all. Does anyone have any experience running GFO in a tank primarily dedicated to anemones?
I am somewhat concerned that the conditions encouraging anemone growth have supported the hair algae, and I don't want to disrupt that.
Thanks,
John
