Bulkhead question

I just bought a 90 Oceanic Tech tank which has (4) 1 3/4" holes for the bulkheads. (2) of the (4) holes will be capped off, the third will be the drain for the 1" spaflex and the 4th will be a return for my 3/4" spaflex. My question is whether to use a 3/4>1" reducer on both sides of the return bulkhead or is there a better solution. I do not want to use 1" conduit for the return.

Ive always just used the reducers. If you get a 1" slip to 3/4" thread reducer you can just glue them right into the bulkhead.
