Burnt Tips...Then What?

So I've encountered the common problem of burnt tips on a couple of my SPS. In my case this time, it was b/c I waited a little too long to change my GFO. The PO4 level went from 0.08ppm to 0.03ppm in one day. Now a few of the more sensitive pieces have burnt tips.

My question is: what happens to a coral after its tips are burnt? Do they grow back? Does the coral RTN or STN? Should I take any remedial action?

in good situation, it grows back.

do check KH value, and compare it to yesterdays readings.

Usually when po4 is reduced too much, corals loose tissue from base up. unless po4 reduction triggered a growth, and since lower po4, tissue wasnt made as fast as skeleton, hence the burned tip.

I've been staying on top of alk testing - it's stayed within +/-0.2 of 8 dkh. I wish I'd stayed on top of PO4 testing too.

I'm not seeing tissue loss from the base up...just the tips. What does that mean? Also, my Ultimate Stag has had some tissue loss on the tips of coralites.
