I tried my google fu and I think it may be pocillopora. But, I'm not 100% sure..

Put it in the tank last night and it was opened up within 10 minutes. Under blues it looks very neon greenish and is absolutely beautiful. under whites it looks like the picture below with the polyp tips green.

LFS when I asked about it the guy said he'd give it to me for 10 bucks so I couldn't pass on that. Said to put it up high, in high flow. It seems really happy so I'm just gonna let it do its thing. It looks like a tree branch when the polyps were closed.

But, what is it?

What's the skeleton look like? Looks more like a small torch or hairy mushroom without seeing any of the skeleton to see the shape of it.

This guy is small like 1.5''. When the polyps were closed it looked SPS'ish. Like a tree branch.

It gets so bushy with the polyps out you can't see the skeleton

Hard to tell, but maybe a galaxia? If so, it can have some very long and powerful stingers.

I'm guessing its a Torch coral which is a Euphyllia. Would be good to see the skeleton to be sure.

I have a torch that color, black tentacles and neon green tips, looks like a fiber optic light LOL

The picture is of a birds nest. Which isn't what you have.

Can you get the polyps to retract for a picture?

There's actually a lot of plausible suggestions in this thread. It might become more evident as it grows. These things can sometimes be a bit of a Rorschach test when they're in pictures.

Could it be a pocillopora.

Oh was on the phone didn't see that you already gotten a answer.
