Old thread, but I'll say I was lucky enough to come across a pair. Other than an occasional one for sale on Diver's Den a while back, I've never seen them for sale... not surprising the OP is in Australia.

this fish is a common seashore fish in my country, and are very common in tide pools and are sometimes even used as live bait on hooks. they are often stranded with copperbands during low tide.

i'm so happy they are appreciated in the other part of the world! it's a unique fish with beautiful shape.

I have one in my tank and got lucky that he is eating frozen food. A lot of these Copperband Butterfly Fish are picky eaters

Do you have a copperband or a Parachaetodon ocellatus?

Great looking fish, Peter's videos in his build thread really show how cool these fish are. I'd love to add one to my tank some day.

My bad. Thought that was a copperband like I have. They look exactly the same except for the snout haha

My pics don't do them justice. Their bands actually are a very light caramel color when they are calm... like in this pic:
