Buying ATI Bulbs from lfs

I purchased these bulbs from a lfs and when I opened them the words looked smeared and there are pen marks on the tubes. No footprint or stained spots at the ends. How do I know the lfs owners didn't switch out their used bulbs? Any input from reefers would be helpful.

if lfs is close by take back and ask for an exchange if you have concerns. if you're a good customer shouldn't be an issue

Easy... with the bulbs off, look at the ends near the metal caps. The white glass should be uniform white like the rest of the bulb... After about a week of use, the ends start turning a dark grey color.

The one cap you are showing tells me your bulbs are brand new.

Plus I worked in the printing industry many, many years ago and the ink smears look way too familiar, lol. But, it's not easy printing on glass bulbs.

Thanks guys for the info. There were no black spots on the ends so I decided to keep them. The owner of the lfs offered a full refund but I didn't want to go through the hassle of returning the bulbs during this pandemic.
