C Dogs 478g LED Reef

I sold the 240g and bought this today on craigslist for $800. It is a 478 gal acrylic tank 8' x 2' x 4' with 1 1/4" acrylic. It has a over flow in the middle on the tank. This will be a reef tank with LED lighing. I had to drive 3 hours each way to pick it up

What a great buy! Was the tank in good shape scratch-wise? Are there LED's available for penetrating 4' of water?

It has a hand ful of scratches from
a cleaning magnet but nothing that wont buff out. I dont know about the leds. I was going to looking into 40 degree optics right above it. I will have to talk to some people about that. Heres a pic just getting home

Even came with free sand and fake coral rocks( dont worry I am not using those in this tank!)

I was thinking that myself, seems as it will be a challenge to properly light for a reef. That is one pretty tank though I look forward to your build. Thanks for sharing

You will need some snorkeling gear to reach the sand bed to siphone it.

Yea its gona be a pain in the butt to work on the bottom have. I might even have to drain some water to work if i have to lol

This tank will be against a wall. I wish i could have 3 sides viewable. i do not have any where in my house that this would work. So for now i am going to do a shadow box with a light.

Correct me if I am wrong but that tank came from a guy on this forum? Either way that's an awesome price, good find. Good luck on the build.

I dont know. I bought it from a guy that makes custom glass tanks at his shop. He said it use to be at a bar
