I'm having a mild to moderate HA problem in my 110. At present the tank has about 100 lbs of live rock from a local reef enthusiast who was taking down his tank. I expected, and wasn't surprised, when it showed too much growth. The tank has a SSB and livestock include:
2 damsels
1 Kole tang
1 Bi-Colored Blenny
1 Dwarf Fuzzy
1 Coral Beauty
3 Emerald Crabs
2 Serpant Starfish
3 Fighting Conchs
6 Turbo Grazers
2 Lettuce Nudis
1 Toadstool Leather Coral (huge)
1 Moon coral (palm size)
1 Bubble LPS (about 3-4 inches)
1 Kenya tree (tiny now but watch out later)
I have a 10 gal undertank fuge (just started) which I should be adding Cheato to this week. It is plumbed to a seperate 10 gal sump for the skimmer and pumps. I'm thinking C. Prolifera in the display but know that it can become invasive. I'd also like some other macro's later. I'm not interested in a reef tank and am hoping to make a nice mixed tank. I also plan to add possibly a foxface and a large angel (probably a Magestic). My thought are to try to grow the C. Prolifera as a partial backdrop (across about half of the tank). I think a halimeda and a red would round out the tank. Your opinions and suggestions would be appreciated. Oh, I do use DI water for my make up but didn't change to that until about a month after the tank was set up. Initial set-up was with carbon filtered tap water. I've also been doing weekly 10% water changes for the past month with the DI for make-up. Thanks for your help!
