cabbage leather damage.

I had another questions for my cabbage leather coral. Where I had it positioned before I inadvertantly starved some of it of light which made it quite pale. It is all in light now and the edges have started to color up however at its base I am seeing the 'spikes' and the skin is shrinking away. I tried to take a pic to show what I am talking about and even though it didn't come out well I attached it.

should I frag out the healthy tissue? Would it re-grow over the dying area?

double check NO3.
No surgery required, when conditions are back to normal, it should recover.

Ill do a test when I get home, nothing else in the tank (including about 15 other corals) is having any issues so I don't think its water chemistry...
