Calcium 600+

alright so i got my water tested recently and the chart says im over 600+ with my calcium. i find this hard to believe especially since all my corals are healthy as a mother and are growing fine. i used a salifert test kit BTW. so since its not an issue for my corals is there anyone else running that high of calcium. im slowly bringing it down to normal around 450-480 is where i like it.

Probably gonna be more of an issue for you pumps than your corals. Suprised it's not snowing in your tank.

i know i mean i tested the water 3 times and still the same results. ive gotten it down to about 500 now but it was pretty high for at least a week and a half.

Nope, nothing wrong with it. Most of the time, calcium will precipitate in the form of coraline algae or build up on parts of the tank. If you added extra calcium faster than you should, you will then see it snow. My Calcium level in my reef stays over 500+ all the time.

Pretty much sums it up. My LFS keeps their coral DT at 560 ppm Ca. LOL they have coraline absolutely everywhere. Corals look healthy too. It's ok if you overdose some Ca, it's just a real worry if you overdose too much alk.

Seems like it would be hard to maintain adequate Alk levels with Ca that saturated.
Did you try another test kit or take a sample to an LFS for an independent check of the levels? How do you suppose the Ca got that high? Salt mix? Dosing?
