i finally got a calcium test and checked it it is at 540 is this ok i have read it should be somewhere between 400 and 450 is it ok to be too high. i dont have any sps corals or clams to use it up will it drop on its own?

The level is a little high. Its nothing to worry about because it will drop on its own. Many people with calcium reactors keep it at 500 ppm.I keep mine at 440.If you are planning on adding corals I would try to keep alk and calcium levels at a normal level. You should also check your mag levels aswell. If you are going to start adding corals give them a more stable enviornment. This will help make sure that the corals survive rather then they die and you start to wonder what happened? With proper lighting and paramaters you should be able to keep most corals.Read before you buy!
