Calcium question?

So here's the history:

A year ago, Ca measured 360.
5 months ago, started a kalk reactor and adding Part A & B.
Stopped adding Part A&B after 1 week because Ca measured 480 but continued the kalk reactor. Stopped the Kalk reactor after another week because the Ca continued to measure 480.

I've been measureing the Ca since and it still has not dropped below 470. I've only done one 50% water change about a month ago (nitrates was 14). I only have one decent sized colony of orange digi, the rest adds up to about 7 SPS frags. I have about 10 medium sized LPS and lots of softies. I also used about 150lbs of "reef rock" when I started the tank (rock the was a reef about 1000 years ago,now that reef is refered to as Texas). I heard this could leak Ca into the tank but only very slowly.

Finally.......what everyone has waited for......the question!

Why is my Ca staying so high? Need more SPS!:D

Thanks for any help

I assume you are using a Salifert kit, right Ed.

What salt are you using? What are you mixing it to?

You are using a calcium reactor now. You don't mention this in the post. Or did you stop that too?

I'd take a water sample and have it checked to see if they agree before you look for the magic calcium generator.

huh?

Ed:

Never got the reactor going? hmmm.

Stop using Oceanic. That's your problem. If you are mixing to 1.026, Oceanic is a no-no. Unstable at that level as per their own admission. I can dig out the email if you like (or search here, about 1.5yrs ago I posted it in a thread here).
