Calcium reactor noise!!!

i'm new to using CR and was surprised by the noise it makes. i know the sound comes from the pump "chopping" the co2. does anyone have ways of quieting it down?

You should hear a slight noise as each bubble enters the impeller, but it should not bo too draatic. You could wrap the pumps inlet in some types of foam to absorb at least some of the sound....

when i first started it, without co2, it was nearly silent. With co2 it is by far the noisest part of the tank... i have the pump wrapped in foam and i hear the pump "chopping" the co2 across the room. i e-mailed vertex and they got back to me within hours, saying that Proline Aquatics will help me..i will tell you vertex is a great company, they respond quickly and find solutions. i hope they can fix this?

That is odd. I have a Geo reactor with an Eheim pump on it, and a maxi jet feeder pump in the sump. It is all dead silent. No chopping, no sound.
