calcium reactor question

calcium 490 ph 8.1 i set the ph controller to 6.50 i put the drip near the protein skimmer. how can i increase my ph to 8.3? i try the ph buffer go up to 8.3 after couple of minutes it will fall back to 8.1.

what media are you using? and i dont think 8.1 is bad also does it change when the lights are out?

the calcium is a bit high. what is the alk readings at? that may be a issue with the ph. i agree that it's not bad as long as it's not dipping below 8.0 in the middle of the light off cycle. try drip the efflent into a small solo cup with a air stone and let it flow into the sump and see if that helps. are you checking the efflent with the same proble as the tank? are you using a ground probe?

should check it in the middle of the photo period. never hurts to check it during the lightoff photo period. you know one of those nights you have to get up to go pee. just put a reminder on the toliet to check ph. it worked for me
