Calcium reactors????

Bit of advice needed please,
I feel I'm getting to grips with the basics of my marine hobby and now want to start delving a little deeper in to the chemistry of it all.

I want to understand the purpose and benefits of a calcium reactor and whether or not its gonna significantly improve my reef setup.

I have a 30g (120ltr) tank with a large external filter and sufficient skimmer with radion LEDs
Water changes are weekly with good quality salt mix.

Many thanks

A calcium reactor is used when you have SPS sucking up calcium. If your not having a problem keeping calcium up by dosing I wouldn't worry about it. You can also run two part dosing systems to replenish your calcium and alk. I've never messed with the reactor so I'm not exactly sure the full ability of it, but I think it helps buffer alk as well but I'm not for sure on that.
