Calfo Overflow Boxes w/ Out Drilling

I think you could just add the overflow and have it drain into the existing overflow. You'll get the coast to coast surface skimming that you want. To make it nicer you can remove the old overflow (assuming you have a megaflow) and try to make it less bulky with glass. This should work. asthetics is another matter.

remove the existing overflow

put in the calflow and drill a hole in the bottom of the calflow over the hole in the existing overflow and run a pipe to connect the holes.

or you could run your calflow up to the side of the existing overflow and glue it to the existing overflow, then cut out the area that is between the calflow and the existing overflow. you'll probably want to raise the existing overflow so that water overflows the calflow instead of the existing
or if they are the same height, water will flow over both.

Hi

I made a full length overflow for mine without drilling, I didn't want to have to take the tank all aprt and all so I just made it like this, next time I switch tanks I'll do a better one.
I used black 1/4" acrylic had the guy at work cut them out for me on the CNC router, then I glued it together and siliconed it in the tank, I made another box to hang on the outside of the tank with baffles in it like an amiracle overflow box, then I just bought a "U" tube to feed it, works like a charm, I'm only running about 350 GPH through it, so the one "U" tube handles it fine, been running almost a year now without issue.
it needs a good cleaning though. :)
