Calliactis polypus reef safe?

I was given an anemone by a friend because hes tesring down his tank.. its the kind that attaches to a hermit crab shell.. from my searches I came up with Calliactis polypus.. is this correct?

Aparently the crab died and its just the shell and the anemone now. So if he is reef safe how should go about removing him from the shell or should i let it do its own thing? Any info appreciated.. never had an anemone before..

I dont have a pic of him open yet. I fed him a 1/4 frozen mysis cube last night when he was opened up.. hes been closed since lights came on.

I've never heard of these, so I'm very much so looking forward to your pictures with it open.

So he only opens up during lights off.. should i move him to a more shaded area of the tank? I cant find any info on this anemone. .
