I came home from work and found one of my clowns not swimming like it normally does, then I saw this.

What could this be? The only other fish is a second clown that has been paired for some time, and about seven emerald crabs.

Not exactly sure, but I have heard that emerald crabs do eventually go after small fish... Do not have any experience with emerald crabs.

Two Possibilities:

1, Ich. You clown could have caught a disease called marine ich, which in a reef aquarium is very hard do rid of.

2, the Emerald crabs. Nasty little guys. They SHREDDED my GBTA to pieces and really pis$ed of my clown, so he killed them. It wasn't a fun day for me and the aquarium.

The crabs have eaten most of the alge in the tank so maybe it the crabs. the clown is eating but not like it norally does. Its mate is very mad, swimming back and fourth in the tank very fast. I have seen the clowns picking on some of the crabs. I guess I will have to wait and see or should I remove them both and place them in to a QT?

Post the pics in the fish disease forum and see if it a disease or an injury before moving them. As you do not want to add stress that is not necassary, it could make problems worse. If you have a fuge, move the emeralds in there for sure. At least that is what I would do. I personally don't trust crabs, or large snails. I think the only things I trust are smallish snails, shrimp, nems, and corals...
