Has anyone had any experience with an Olimpus Evolt E510? Any feedback you would like to express will be greatly appreciated.

Specifically with fish or in general?

I have no experience with the 510 personally but I own a 520 and have used to 620.

I do alot of nature stuff do the Oly gear works to my advantage. It runs the 4/3 sensor which basically means the sensor will crop each image compared to a standard sensor or full frame.

Basically taking a canon or Nikon with a 300mm lens will get you the same pic as the Oly with a 150mm lens. So u get more reach and glass is alot cheaper since you don't have to get crazy zooms. Also it have IS built into the camera and not the lens again making glass cheaper.

Almost. You do get the magnification of the 300 but scene compression, bokeh, etc are still what you'd expect with a 150.

Oly makes good gear. You should, however, find one in a store or something that you can handle. Camera choices, especially dealing with a DSLR, are very personal.

I agree on it being personal. Go into some stored and hold some cameras. See how you like the feel of each camera size, camera features, different types of media they record to, different glass options etc.

One thing I love from Oly is the cheaper glass compared to alot of others for the same reach. BTW you can see it in quite a few reviews but Oly uses the Zuiko lenses which has been said to be some of the best kit lenses for DSLRs.
