Can a 4 week old DBS be reused?

I added an RDSB 4weeks ago and I need to transfer the sand into a new container.

Is this possible to do without crashing my tank?

I would say yes, but if your real worried about it, then pour it into the new container and then fill it with water. Then a few hours later check the water in the new container for Nitrite and Ammonia.

Probably. A DSB takes about 6 months to become very biologically active anyway.

You may be right but after 4weeks a RDSB will reduce nitrates from 50ppm to 0ppm if you have enough sand for your display size.
