Can a clam kill fish?

I've read that clams can do some serious damage to your fingers if the close on it. That led me to the question, can it kill my fish? If my Mandarin floats over to it will I find the Mandarin cut in half?

Just wondering

I saw a picture of a clown that got trapped for a bit in a closed clam. Later it opened up and the clown escaped. I would suspect it would depend on the size of the clam.

Seems to me I saw a thread with a pic of a tang with it's head inside a clam and it killed it.

Yesterday my Maroon clown found the clam and decided she didn't like it. After she knocked it over she decided to go for the mantle. I know I should have stopped it right there but my morbid curiosity took over. She was about 1/2" away when the clam snapped shut, scared the hell out of the clown. I started laughing at her.

I then moved the clam far away from her space and both are happy.
