can a small nem be a hitchhiker?

I recently purchased some zooanthids on a rock and it seems there was a mushroom attached and what looks like a very small BTA. The mushroom disappered, could be too much light under 10w/g and the small little nem hitchhiker was disloged in the bag during transport from the LFS but I put it back on the rock and in the tank, its there now under the zooanthids. The rock was placed on a tonga branch so its fairly open under. I should take a picture.

Its pretty small and doesn't look like a zooanthid so my question is can an anemone hitchhike?

Yes, definitely.

The pest anemonies are most known for hitchhiking, as far as overall numbers go.

Mojano anemones definitely can. They're generally considered pests because the split often and walk around while stinging corals. They're not bad looking by themselves, though they stay small. Look up some pictures of them, they're usually brown and green, see if that's what you've got. If so, probably best to kalk it to death.

I should say I have a couple of mojanos in my quarantine tank that I'm allowing to live because they don't seem to be reproducing and they can't hurt anything in there. If they start splitting a lot they're history.

I think I've seen brown mojanos, they have small pointy tentacles? This one has bulbular tentacles and a gray base/foot.

Yeah, the brown mojanos I have are brown with a bright green mouth, pointy tentacles with slight bulbs at the end. They walk a lot, you can very nearly see them move. I haven't killed the two in my 2.5G quarantine tank because there's nowhere for them to hide, just a sand bed and bare glass. Post a pic if you can get one.

Ok looks like I have both aiptasia and majano. The Aiptasia is on a tonga branch I will move to my QT tank and try to remove. The Majano is easily removed from the rock and I'll also move this to the QT tank take a picture and donate back to nature.

Here are the pictures of one. I found the other late last night and it doesn't look like this one below, it has brown tentacles with bulbs and pointed tips. The tentacles also have a white ring around it before the bulb. I'll take a picture of that one too. For now here is the suspected monajo
